As luck would have it, I planned my summer trip to Minnesota during the time of the Minnesota State Fair. Like all other Minnesota State Fair visitors, Jason, my mother and I planned an entire day of gorging ourselves on anything fried and loaded with sugar. I skipped breakfast that morning in order to build up my hunger to unparalleled levels so I could take on the Minnesota State Fair challenge. There are no real rules to the challenge other than discovering just how much food you can stuff into your belly. There are any real winners with this challenge. Although the pleasure from eating the food is mind-blowing, it’s fleeting and everyone ends up leaving the fair feeling fat, tired and stuffed. We were not any different, but it was totally worth every carb-laden calorie. I welcome you to join me on this photographic journey of why America is fat…

- Here is the ice cream from the apple dumplings. Jason said the ice cream and apple combination was good. He is not a man of many words, so what he really meant was, “Oh my goodness… this apple dumpling and ice cream combination is so divine, scrumptious and tasty. I only wish that I could have grown up in Minnesota instead of South Florida so I could have enjoyed it throughout my childhood.” Or something like that…

- We stopped here to get some French fries. After all, I am the French Fry Fairy. However, I had some competition. They had fry fairies at this booth in fairy costumes spinning a contest wheel. After the jealousy ceased, I realized there was room in this world for lots of French Fry Fairies. A world with French fry lovers is a perfect world for me. Oh, the French fries were amazing too… They were fresh-cut, hot, salted and awesome.
