As soon as I heard about the Burger Beast, I knew I had to get to know him! The French Fry Fairy meets the Burger Beast – I can envision the movie now. Of course, we might be the only ones who actually want to see it. As it turns out, the Beast has been rating burgers for about a year with his friends, and I was lucky enough to join the group on an excursion to Tom Jenkins BBQ in Fort Lauderdale.
Vegetarians and barbeque restaurants are not usually a good mix, but I was a sport and showed up eager to try the French fries. There was not much on the menu that I was able to eat so I ordered a corn muffin and fries and began to chow down. I don’t actually think they served burgers , but there was plenty of charred carcass to go around. Not my thing… However, I can respect that the meat did smell delicious and everyone really seemed to enjoy their food. Read the rest of this entry »

Brad, who is one of the funniest people I know, took me to a little corner bar,
Each morning I am faced with the decision of whether or not I need coffee to get me through the day. On most days, I can survive without it, but lately I seem to need it as liquid life to sustain my being. The city of Miami Beach decided to set up camp for a team of construction workers right outside my window. Maybe a few months down the road I will appreciate all the work they are doing, but right now I can’t look past the fact that I haven’t slept well in weeks. Sure we have to be considerate of people who go to bed early, so construction workers can’t work too late at night. Random Sundays are the best. I love having absolutely no plans and then the stars align so I can have a fantastically perfect random day. Sunday morning consisted of a leisurely bike ride, then I watched about six episodes of South Park, then another bike ride and the evening ended with a little yoga and drum circle. Random? Yes. Could I have planned it any better? Not a chance!
Eddie the Neighbor and I decided to partake in a French fry adventure. It had been several weeks since our last excursion, and to be honest, I really missed our outings. Eddie picked me up on his bike and I rode on the handlebars the entire way. I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt and I felt like I was 12 years old. It was just like riding in the front car on a rollercoaster and I don’t think that I ever want travel another way again.
I had an absolutely beautiful afternoon with a woman whom I believe is quite possibly the
sweetest person on the entire planet. That might seem like a pretty bold statement, but the Universe did not create too many souls like my dear friend, Dannielle.
Sunday brunch is such a great thing. You can get breakfast or lunch, so everybody involved is happy. I love that I can order eggs, pancakes AND a side of French fries. Brunch is even better with your girlfriends and mimosas! Emily, Hillary and I decided to go to
