When I first moved to South Beach, I heard about Joe’s Stone Crab and their amazing French fries. Unfortunately, when I moved here the restaurant was closed for the season. This was a real bummer because it was only a block away from my house. However, many French fries later I forgot about Joe’s until the other week when it finally opened.

Carla and I woke up for the early yoga class at the
French fries? Well, I eat so many vegetables and other things that are good for me, that I have to satisfy the part of me that just wants to eat junk food. I don’t like sweets, so chocolate wouldn’t work. I don’t eat meat, so that cuts out a whole food group of treats that are bad for me. I found a love for fried potatoes and have fixated on that craving for years.
My friend Al is probably one of the most genuinely nice people I have met since I moved to Miami. He happens to be one of my favorite people in this city, not only because he shares my affinity for the LOL Smiley Face song, but because we are always having adventures. He has the amazing ability to make me leave South Beach, which I really hate doing. It’s not that I don’t like traveling, but last year I traveled too much and I am enjoying the fact that I have everything I need within a few miles of my house.

One of the great things about living in Miami is I can do vacation-like activities on a daily basis. Coming from the Midwest, I still marvel in the fact that I can wake up and watch the sunrise over the ocean every day. Do I wake up every morning in the 6 o’clock hour to watch the sunrise? Hell no. The point is I can if I want to!
