When I was in high school I worked next door to Wendy’s, which is where one for my girlfriends first told me to dip my fries in a Frosty. I was a little skeptical at first, but after I tried it I found that the sweet and salty combination was really good! I have been out of high school for a few years now (well maybe more than a few years), which has allowed my sophisticated palate for French fries to develop. I will have to say that this is one of the most unique French fry experiences I have had yet! Read the rest of this entry »

New York City: Pommes Frites has the Best French Fries…. Yum

Posted by French Fry Fairy On May - 25 - 20104 COMMENTS

I did it… I have found the most amazing French fry place in the entire world. I am in love…. I have been to New York a lot of times and I have seen all the touristy things, so my only goal when going to New York this time was to celebrate Tania’s birthday and to go to Pommes Frites.  I have heard of this little French fry place from many people, but I had no idea how amazing this place would be in person.

Going to Pommes Frites was the only thing I could talk about all morning, but I think I was the only one who was truly excited. Kevin and Tania were very accommodating… bless their hearts. We arrived at Pommes Frites and it was better than any of my dreams.  I could write all day and not give this place the credit it deserves. The French fries were Read the rest of this entry »

I was visiting New York City in celebration of Tania’s birthday. We had a day filled with shopping, eating and walking, but we were ready to eat more. We were finally out of Miami and there were so many restaurants to choose from, so we didn’t know where to start. Tania and I were starving, so we headed to a place for dinner that was close to the place we were staying. Five Napkin Burger was just around the corner, so we walked over and waited for a table.

We took a little peak at the menu and ordered Read the rest of this entry »

Miami: Q American Barbeque and the Burger Beast

Posted by French Fry Fairy On May - 24 - 20102 COMMENTS

Well, National Hamburger Month is almost coming to a close. The Burger Beast really made a valiant effort in making this celebration special for everyone. All of my favorite bloggers were at Q American Barbeque for his own burger event, so it was a lot of fun. Of course, there was the Burger Beast, but my other friends CarlosMaria and Jim were also there with a bunch of other people for a night of burgers and prizes. Read the rest of this entry »

Once upon a time, I worked with a great marketing team. We had a lot of fun and once in a while even managed to get some work done. Today we had a spontaneous reunion to laugh about the funny times and reminisce about the good times. Jay, Al, Jason and I hopped in the car in search of some new French fries.

We were not really sure where we wanted to go to lunch, so we decided to go to Bass Pro Shop in Dania Beach. You are probably asking yourself, “What is there to eat at Bass Pro Shop?” I asked the exact same question. As it turns out, there is a restaurant located inside the massive store.  There is even a full bar, so if you are feeling saucy one night you can get your buzz on and shop for some rifles or guns. I kid… I kid…. Read the rest of this entry »

Jason is one of my favorite people in the entire world. He does crazy things like dive with sharks and all sorts of crazy shenanigans that I would never have the guts to do. We went to lunch at Shuck ‘N Dive Cajun Café with his friend, Ryan, who also likes to tempt fate and fish for sharks. They play with sharks and I write about French fries. I think both Read the rest of this entry »

South Beach: 11th Street Diner and Crinkle Cut French Fries

Posted by French Fry Fairy On May - 12 - 20101 COMMENT

I think that most big cities have a 40s or 50s style diner and every single one of these diners claims that they are world famous. South Beach is no different, so I thought the world famous Miami diner deserved a visit from the French Fry Fairy.

Actually, I wasn’t really planning on going to the diner. Josh and I were walking down Washington Avenue and like always, we were hungry. We walked by the 11th Street Diner and neither of us had ever been there, so we gave it a whirl. Read the rest of this entry »

Miami: Bourbon Steak French Fries

Posted by French Fry Fairy On May - 11 - 20102 COMMENTS

It’s been a long time since I wrote anything about French fries. Oh, how I have missed the fried greasiness
of fried tubers from around South Florida. Don’t worry, I am back on track and ready to continue my French fry journey. I would like to quickly write a quick ode to the fried potato because it has been a while since I enjoyed them. Read the rest of this entry »
