Kettle Chips - Chip of the Month Club

Did I ever tell you how much I love Kettle Chips? The potato chips are unlike any other brands because the flavors are so unique. I like them even more because today I was sitting on the couch and UPS knocked on my door with a box full of Kettle Chips!  I am now part of the Chip of the Month Club! I love my life… I was even more excited when I saw my two favorite flavors among the chips – Spicy Thai and Buffalo Bleu Kettle Chips.

I wasn’t expecting any chips, but it felt like Christmas! There I was just minding my own business and the Universe must have felt my hunger. It was about noon and I had just started thinking about lunch. I didn’t even have to order food or go out to eat. I just continued to lie on the couch, eat my chips and now I am full. Awesome.

Atlanta, Georgia: O’Charley’s and some French Fries

Marc in front of O'Charley's in Atlanta

I was with Marc and Jason, who I seem to be spending a lot of my days with lately. We were in Atlanta getting some work done. We stopped at O’Charley’s, which I thought was an adorable neighborhood restaurant, but as it turns out, this a chain that is located across the nation. I had never heard of it, so it was new to me.

The décor on the inside was a little odd. The imagery used Read the rest of this entry »

Visiting Island Grill in the Florida Keys for Some French Fries

I was bored the other day, so I talked Jason into driving down to Islamorada in the Florida Keys. There is a place called Robbie’s on this particular key where you can feed tarpon. I had to get over the grossness of touching dead fish, but once that happened, I had a great time. The tarpon are huge and have a prehistoric look, which makes sense because rumor has it they haven’t changed in 100 million years. I am just going to put it out there that not one scientist was living 100 million years ago, so I feel that is a pretty bold assumption. Who knows if they have been around that long? Regardless, feeding tarpon is fun. Jason even got a pretty groovy picture of the humungous fish… pretty good picture if you ask me.

Island Grill

After we were done feeding tarpon, I was hungry. We found a place right off of Overseas Highway called Island Grill. The place didn’t look too fancy, but we were in for a surprise. It was right on the water and our server was uber friendly. The food was really good. We started out with tater chip fondue. This delicious appetizer Read the rest of this entry »

It's Sonny!

When I went to Alabama, I noticed how many Sonny’s Barbeque restaurants there are in the world. Jason and I happened to go to a Sonny’s near Jacksonville, Florida. However, there are about a gazillion of these restaurants scattered across the southeast, so we can

French Fries at Sonny's Barbeque

just say this review took place in Anytown, America. Jason really loves Sonny’s Barbeque. I don’t eat meat, so my options were pretty limited. I went with the salad bar and French fries… good thing I am Read the rest of this entry »

Shake Shack French Fries

After weeks of hearing about the delicious French fries at Shake Shack, I finally grabbed my girlfriend, Tania, and headed over there for some dinner. Obviously, I ordered the French fries, but I also ordered the ‘Shroom Burger. I just ordered the veggie burger without actually reading the description, so I was in for quite a surprise.

I really, really loved the ‘Shroom Burger, so I will talk about Read the rest of this entry »

Huevos rancheros and fried potatoes!

One of my favorite meals in the world is huevos rancheros, which is Spanish for whale’s vagina. Ok… maybe it is Spanish for ranch eggs, but regardless, they are good. I discovered this meal when I went on a trip to Honduras and Guatemala with my little brother a couple of years ago. It is a dish that is very popular in Mexico and consists of fried eggs served on a corn tortilla with a tomato-based sauce. It is usually served with refried beans and guacamole too! I was very delighted when I saw it on the menu at Joe T. Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas.

My parents took us to this restaurant because Jason love tacos and my mother swears that Joe T. Garcia’s is the best Mexican restaurant in

Jason and his yummy food...

Fort Worth. I was really excited when I saw that my huevos rancheros came with fried potatoes! The day just kept getting better. Hooray!

Dad and Mom eating some food too...

My meal was amazing. The potatoes were fried to perfection. They were made with peppers, tomatoes, onions and I couldn’t have been happier. The potatoes were seasoned just right. They were crispy without being burnt. Yum yum in my tum tum.

Waiting for the train!

The excitement didn’t stop there… no siree. After an early lunch at Joe T. Garcia’s, we headed to the Fort Worth Stockyards. We saw a cattle drive, real cowboys, a mechanical bull and we even rode a train from the 1800s. We walked away sweating from the Texas heat and I swear the smell of cow was lingering in our clothes. It was a fun day though. Overall, I had an amazing time with my parents and Jason. The food was good and the company was even better. I am one lucky fairy.

Potato Flyers

I have always really liked Pirate’s Booty, so when the company came out with a new product, Potato Flyers, I was pretty excited. I was sent samples of all the

Potato Flyers

The image on the bag is a pilot, so I figured I would take these on a plane to get a real feel for the potato snacks. Jason and I were each armed with two bags and we were ready to start Read the rest of this entry »
