Chik-fil-A Waffle Fries in Boca Raton

Chik-fil-A Waffle Fries

Once again, I tried to do a little holiday shopping. I was near Town Center at Boca Raton when I couldn’t resist my carb craving any longer. I just wanted something quick, so I grabbed some waffle French fries from Chik-fil-A.

Chik-fil-A

The reason I think that Chik-fil-A has good French fries is the waffle shape. Sometimes the shape of French fries can really affect the flavor. Well maybe not. Maybe the shape can affect the perceived flavor. All I know is the waffle shape creates a party in my mouth that makes me very happy. I would even go as far to say that waffle shapes are more fun than crinkle cut fries. Maybe that will spark a debate, but regardless, I prefer Read the rest of this entry »

French Fries at Charley’s Grilled Subs in Aventura Mall

Dining at Aventura Mall

I braved the crowds of Black Friday and headed on over to the Aventura Mall. I stopped at Starbucks before I headed over to the mall to get a Gingerbread Soy Latte. Yum! There was a cop there and she said that she had to arrest someone for pulling a gun on someone else who cut in line at Best Buy. I never knew people were so serious about shopping! Luckily, I didn’t head to the mall until around noon so all the crazies were back at home fast asleep. Why on earth would anyone wake up at 4 a.m.

to fight with other holiday shoppers? I can’t think of anything I want that badly.

After about 30 minutes of shopping, my tummy startled to grumble. There was a wait at the restaurants in the mall, so we decided to head to the food court. It is Read the rest of this entry »

Top 10 Restaurants I want to Visit for the Best French Fries

Posted by French Fry Fairy On November - 25 - 20101 COMMENT

French Fries

There are a number of restaurants famous for French fries that I have yet to visit. I feel like there is a whole world of fries just waiting for me to review. I have researched some of the top restaurants that serve some pretty famous fried tubers and have put together a top 10 wish list of restaurants I would like to visit to try their French fries.

If I had not already visited Pomme Frites in NYC or Burger and Beer Joint in South Beach, I would definitely want to add those to my list. However, since those have already been crossed off, that just made room for two more places to visit on my list.

If you have any comments on any of these restaurants or suggestions of places to go, I would love to hear from you!

1. Le Roy Jucep in Quebec

In the brief research I did on the invention of poutine, I found two restaurants that possibly invented the famous Canadian dish. One of the restaurants is no longer in operation, but luckily Le Roy Jucep is still in full swing in Drummondville, Quebec. Poutine is a French fry dish made with cheese curds and gravy. Om nom nom nom…

2. Maison Antoine in Brussels

There is a long history to French fries and the debate stills goes on as to whether France or Belgium is home to fries. Maison Antoine has fresh cut fries and a wide variety of dipping sauces. I can’t wait to get to Brussels to Read the rest of this entry »

Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood and French Fries

French Fries and Shake N Burger at the Casino

Suzanne, Torsten, Jason and French Fries

One of my dearest friends came into town and the weather turned bad, so I was at a loss on how to entertain Suzanne and her boyfriend. People come to Miami for warm weather and outdoor adventures. We had already eaten dinner, so I sat and twiddled my thumbs not knowing what to do until we decided to go to the casino. I am not a big gambler, so I always forget that the Seminole Hard Rock Casino is located pretty close to my house.

Torsten played a little blackjack and was a big winner! He kept a positive attitude and kept getting winning hands. I think the rabbi sitting next to him had something to do with his luck, but who knows. Read the rest of this entry »

The New Natural Cut French Fries with Sea Salt at Wendy’s

Wendy's Original French Fries

The new natural-cut French fries introduced by Wendy’s are really a step up from their previous French fries. I tried the old fries a couple weeks ago in preparation for the new fries coming to town. Wendy’s is better known for the Frosty and French fry combination mix rather than just their French fries. I have to love any restaurant that puts such a high emphasis on improving their fried potato products. I expected big things with the new fries!

I thought that the new natural-cut French fries were going to be at

all locations, so I pulled up to a drive-thru in Fort Lauderdale. The people at the drive-thru window on Sunrise Boulevard were pretty confused when I asked for the new French fries. As a matter of fact, they had no idea what I was talking about. I settled for the old fries, but continued my Read the rest of this entry »

French Fries at Duffy's

I can’t really say that I am a football fan, but I am a fan of boys, beer and fried food. That is why I love going to sports bars on game day. We headed over to Duffy’s Sports Grill in Fort Lauderdale for some beer, pigskin and French fries!

The atmosphere is a lot of fun. Everybody there loves sports and when the Dolphins play well, you can’t Read the rest of this entry »

Chifles Plantain Chips are Alright in My Book

French Fry Fairy and Plantain Chips

Plantains make great chips and fries even though they are only kind of similar to potatoes. Well, maybe they are not that similar. Plantains are not considered tubers, basically because they don’t grow in the ground. I guess they are fruits instead of vegetables. Nobody eats the skin of plantains like they do with potatoes. The list can go on and on how they differ from one another. However, that is no reason to shun the delicious treats that are so scrumdiddlyumptious when they are fried.

I brought home some Chifles Plantain Chips so satiate my carb craving. I opened the bag and was ready to delve in to the chips. I put the first one in my mouth and was not as impressed as I had hoped I would be. They were not as crispy as potato chips, but I assume Read the rest of this entry »

Sharkie’s at Club Med Turkoise for Some French Fries

Dave and French Fry Fairy at Sharkie's

When I was at Go BeachFest, people quickly learned about my French fry addiction. Everyone was ranting and raving about the French fries at Sharkie’s, which were located on Club Med property in the Turks in Caicos. Sharkie’s is only open during happy hour and late nights. It is no wonder everyone thought the French fries were so good. They only ate them while they were consuming alcohol. Anything and everything tastes better with some alcohol in the bloodstream!

I decided to go out on a limb and try the French fries stone cold sober. They Read the rest of this entry »

French Fry Fairy Loving Life in Turks and Caicos

Last week when I went to Go BeachFest at Club Med in the Turks and Caicos, I ended up having a better time than I ever expected. During the week, I was able to paddleboard, play volleyball, do pilates, do yoga and I even tried a little Kung Fu.

Like most people, I always gain five pounds on vacation. I was trying to make the right food choices to avoid the inevitable weight gain, but I didn’t have too much faith in my ability to say no to food. Read the rest of this entry »
