I spent this past week in the Turks and Caicos at GoBeachFest and had the time of my life.

Da Conch Shack in Turks and Caicos

I met a lot of great people, played a little beach volleyball and I got to try out some new French fries. On this particular night, I was in for a real treat.

I headed over to Da Conch Shack with Mary, Dave, Jason and about 100 other people. The restaurant serves the freshest conch I have ever experienced. In fact, I was sitting by the water and watched an employee bring a boat into the ocean and come back with conch that was served fresh. I am really glad Read the rest of this entry »

Randall, FFF, Jason, Joshie, Nina

After we arrived on Lincoln, the shots began. Oh dear lord… By 8:30 p.m. we lost Joshie. As a result of Joshie having too much fun on Halloween, we also lost Nina. However, we picked up some new friends along the way and Tania was soon by our side.
We stayed at Sushi Samba because of the easy access to the outside bar. It was also impossible to walk down Lincoln, so we found a nice place to hang out. Tania and I were both in 4-inch heels, so our feet couldn’t take too much more.

Hot and Spicy BBQ Potato Chips on Halloween in South Beach

Four Loko for Halloween

Everyone gathered at Josh’s house for a little pre-party for our Halloween celebrations. The evening started out with Stoli Doli drinks and Four Loko drinks. A Stoli Doli is basically straight vodka that has been soaking with pineapples for about a week. Four Loko is a caffeinated alcohol, which is sort of like Red Bull and vodka on crack.

Jason and I throwing candy to strangers

So needless to say, the night was interesting.

We started the day early by drinking our adult beverages. Then, Randall (aka John McEnroe for the night) had the brilliant idea of throwing candy down to strangers on Ocean Drive from the balcony. Nina and I quickly ran to Walgreens to restock. The candy extravaganza was a blast, but Josh had to lay down some rules. Only underhanded throws and no more throwing candy across the street because after the beverages our aim kind of sucked.

Posing with the potato chips...

In between candy throwing and drinking, a few of us decided to go Trick or Treating. Josh lives in a building with a lot of old people, so I think they were a little scared of us. We got one couple to answer the door. A cute little old lady answered. Although she did not have any Halloween candy, she did have Butterscotch hard candy. You know, the ones your grandma always gives you. After that, we gave up. It was way more fun throwing candy to people from the balcony.

So, how could this Halloween night get any better? Fried potatoes. I knew I would be in serious need of carbs, so I bought some Hot and Spicy Barbeque Chips from Lay’s when Nina and I were at Walgreens. I figured dragon breath was perfect for a spooktacular Halloween evening out. They were crispy,

crunchy, hot and had a touch of sweetness. I never see these at the grocery store, but I will probably start looking for them a little more closely. They were delicious.

After the last chip was consumed, we hopped in a cab and headed to Lincoln Road.
