French Fries at the Rickenbacker Fish Company in Miami, Florida

My friends and I dined at the Rickenbacker Fish Company in Key Biscayne, Florida. The laid back atmosphere and amazing views make this restaurant a must-see destination for anyone visiting or living in Miami. You can arrive by boat or car to have some of the freshest seafood in South Florida. You can sit and enjoy food and drinks, or you can purchase some fresh fish or stone crabs to take home.

We decided to stay for a meal. We had fish, salad, sandwiches, soup and French fries. The food is made with organic produce that is grown locally. You can really taste the difference.  The tomatoes actually had a sweet flavor and seemed to burst with an explosion of flavor. Although everything was amazing, I liked the French fries best. I would have to say that the French fries were some of the best I have ever had. They were fresh-cut, crispy and salty.

Bradshaw, thank you so much for a lovely afternoon! I will be coming back very soon.

French Fry Fairy at Rocco's Tacos

I had the great pleasure of dining at Rocco’s Tacos in Boca Raton, Florida. I brought a group of my favorite people and feasted on some delicious delicacies. We started out with chips and salsa and moved onto fresh guacamole. Indicate your desired level of spice, and Rocco’s whips up guacamole that will melt in your mouth. As if that wasn’t enough, mushroom tacos soon

French Fries at Dexters in Orlando

Dexters

Orlando holds a special place in my heart because I lived there on-and-off for five years. While I lived there, I made a lot of friends who have remained close over the years. I asked a few of them to meet

Tracy & Matt

up with me at Dexters, which is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Orlando.

I ordered the Corsican Salad, which brought back old memories. I used to live around the corner from Dexter’s and every Monday I would go to Dexters with my old neighbor for beer and salad. Read the rest of this entry »

Garret and our Truffled Yolo Chips

Amrah and I headed over to Yolo on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. We were excited to catch up and talk of things. We ended up sitting at O Lounge, which was not as busy as the main bar. Garret, who we nicknamed Steve, was at our service. I was ecstatic when I found out that Steve had bubblegum vodka at the bar. Even if the food was not good, I would have been happy. As luck would have it, the food was delicious too.

We started out with the Truffled Yolo Chips. These were fresh-cut potato chips topped with blue cheese, truffle oil and bacon. Really? Could there possibly be a more perfect combination? Actually, I didn’t eat the bacon, but that must be amazing for people who love bacon. I had the chips one time before and I remember Read the rest of this entry »

Fort Lauderdale: French Fries at Brick House Tavern

Onion rings... more like onion strings

I went to the Brick House Tavern in Fort Lauderdale with my friends, Kevin and Jason. Kevin and I arrived first and we were greeted at the door by about 50 girls with big boobs that had to be in their teens. It was a little overwhelming because I was expecting a laid back Fort Lauderdale bar, but instead I got Hooters on crack.

It was a chilly night, but there was a fire outside, so we decided to sit Read the rest of this entry »

Top 10 Reasons to Love French Fries

Posted by French Fry Fairy On February - 4 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

French Fries at Pinz

There are a gazillion reasons to love French fries, but I have come up with my top 10 reason to love the mealtime staple.

1. Salt, Fat and French Fries

Salt is good. Fat is good. French fries are the perfect comfort food. Fried potato strips with salt makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

2. French Fries are a Conversation Starter

If you ever have a lull in a conversation, bring up French fries. I have found that everybody has an opinion on where to enjoy the best French fries.

3. Dipping Sauces for French Fries

You can have spicy, sweet, tangy or just about any other flavor of French fries just by

Dipping Sauces for Different Flavors

adding a dipping sauce. The good news is French fries taste delicious with almost any flavor.

4. French Fry Shapes

When you need a new texture to mix things up a little bit, you can choose from endless varieties. Crinkle-cut fries, waffle fries, steak fries, potato chips and I even made heart-shaped French fries recently!

5. French Fries are Vegetables

I am sure that all nutritional content is depleted by the time Read the rest of this entry »

Yucca Fries at Pollo Tropical in Fort Lauderdale

Pollo Tropical Yucca Fries

I was hungry one afternoon and really wanted some white rice with curry mustard sauce from Pollo Tropical. It is kind of a weird combo, but there is something in that sauce that keeps me coming back. When I pulled up to the drive thru, I decided I also wanted some fried food in my belly. It was almost 3 p.m. and I hadn’t eaten anything all day. White rice wasn’t going to satiate my hunger.

I ordered yucca fries in addition to my regular meal. One thing that I have learned to love is fried yucca. I am originally from the Midwest, so yucca is not as popular as it is in Miami. My experience with yucca fries has

been pretty good. The yucca fries Read the rest of this entry »
