French Fry Fairy

As soon as I heard about the Burger Beast, I knew I had to get to know him! The French Fry Fairy meets the Burger Beast – I can envision the movie now. Of course, we might be the only ones who actually want to see it.  As it turns out, the Beast has been rating burgers for about a year with his friends, and I was lucky enough to join the group on an excursion to Tom Jenkins BBQ in Fort Lauderdale.

Vegetarians and barbeque restaurants are not usually a good mix, but I was a sport and showed up eager to try the French fries. There was not much on the menu that I was able to eat so I ordered a corn muffin and fries and began to chow down. I don’t actually think they served burgers , but there was plenty of charred carcass to go around. Not my thing… However, I can respect that the meat did smell delicious and everyone really seemed to enjoy their food.

The fries had a little potato skin, a little grease and a little mystery seasoning. The fries were hot with just the right amount of crunch, so they were definitely satisfying my daily French fry craving.
The mystery seasoning was most likely Lawry’s seasoning salt, but I didn’t want to ask because they were super busy and the man giving us our orders was leaning towards the cranky side. I do think the fries could have been fried just a little bit longer, but that is just a matter of opinion.

I am really glad this excursion took place because the Burger Beast has a passion for burgers that I think comes close to my obsession with fried potatoes, and I was really happy to meet him. I think maybe, just maybe, his enthusiasm might even surpass my adoration of French fries, which I believed was the most pure love of food on the planet. In fact, he is hosting The Burgies in September, in which he will give out awards for the best burgers in South Florida. Brilliant!

French Fry Fairy Advice: To fully enjoy life, you should stop trying to wish for different situations or circumstances and start enjoying all the goodness you have around you.
